We were delighted to welcome Jennifer Buckingham to St. Colman’s this morning. Jennifer is a Senior Research Fellow with the organisation MultiLit in Australia and has travelled to visit schools here in Ireland and the UK. She is researching Literacy attainment and was interested to learn about our approach to teaching reading. She was very impressed with our P1/2 children who showed off their phonics and writing skills when she joined us for our Literacy lesson. She presented the class with a beautiful book about Australia’s native animals as a thank you for hosting her in our school.
