Our P7 pupils, along with children from Dromore Central PS, took part in this fantastic programme yesterday. The practical workshops were delivered by Stephen Magill from JR Magill Cycles and taught the children about bike maintenance; fixing brakes, pumping tyres and general tips on how to keep their bike road worthy. The children also participated in a valuable workshop, facilitated by Gwen from Policing and Community Safety Partnership, learning about road safety and the importance of taking measures to keep safe whilst on your bike, including the need to wear a helmet, which could be life saving. The children also received some lights and Hi-Vis straps to use when out on their bikes. Many thanks to all our partners who have enabled and facilitated this initiative, Dromore Central PS, Martin Bassom our community police officer, PCSP, and JR Magill Cycles. I am also delighted to announce that funding for the Cycling Proficiency training for P7 pupils has been reinstated, meaning we are able to once again offer this programme next term.
