Today P6/7 took part in an NSPCC workshop entitled, ‘Speak out, Stay safe, with Buddy’.
The children watched an interactive assembly featuring Ant and Dec followed by members of Childline. The programme helps children to understand that abuse in all its forms is wrong, that abuse is never their fault and they have the right to be safe. They were also taught how to get help, who their trusted adults would be and the sources of help available to them, including the Childline service.
The speak out, stay safe messages were delivered in a fun and interactive way with the help of Buddy, the NSPCC mascot.
