Safer Internet Day in Primary Six and Seven.

4th Feb 2026

To celebrate Safer Internet Day Primary Six and Seven participated in an online workshop with Barra Best and Business in the Community.  It encouraged young people to make good choices when online. Their motto is STOP, THINK and TELL. They talked about popular websites and games such as Roblox, Snapchat, Tik Tok and offered hints and tips on how to stay safe. For such sites or apps, parents need to check your child’s privacy settings, change settings to friends only and turn comments off. You need to be aware of what personal information you share. Snapchat will always share location which can be viewed by strangers! The children have been taught to never add anyone that you don’t actually know! If parents don’t know how to check privacy settings, a simple Google search will explain how in detail. We talked about stranger danger and being kind while online! The session was very informative and hopefully the children will remember what they’ve been taught and use it to stay safe.
