Science trip to the Navan Centre & Fort, Armagh

13th Mar 2026

On Friday 13th March, the P4–7s visited Navan Centre and Fort in Armagh for a brilliant day of science! 🧬

First we had an excellent, interactive and interesting ‘Bubbology’ show from Bubble Sue. She showed us so many amazing ways to make bubbles and got lots of children involved in her experiments. 🫧

Then we explored the science of forces and impact by learning how the weight, speed and design of Viking weapons affect how far they travel and the dents they leave on impact. Some lucky pupils even got to try some of the weapons….thankfully on tinfoil trays! ⚔️

Finally we had another interesting session all about forces, diffusion and pressure with an American scientist, Even including a bit of sumo fighting between teachers 😅)

Overall the children had a brilliant day and enjoyed all of the wonderful scientific shows. ⭐
